WFSJ at EASL: The International Liver Congress 2016, Barcelona (13-17 April, 2016)

The International Liver Congress is the annual EASL meeting, and the flagship event in EASL’s educational calendar.

Every year in April, scientific and medical experts from a broad range of fields including hepatology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, cell biology, transplant surgery, infectious diseases, microbiology and virology, pharmacology, pathology and radiology and imaging come together from around the world to learn about the latest in liver research.

Specialists share recent data, present studies and findings, and discuss the hottest topics on liver disease. The annual Congress attracted over 10,000 delegates and 250 media representatives from all over the world making this a truly international networking opportunity!

The World Federation of Science Journalists developed in 2015 a Toolbox for journalists on Hepatitis C. Two of the contributing science journalists to the toolbox, Roberta Villa and André Picard, will be participating on April 13 in a panel discussion on keeping HCV High on the Public and Political Agenda. In the discussion, leading HCV stakeholders will exchange on effective strategies to combat the disease and talk about ways to mobilize HCV efforts at the national level and beyond.

The International Liver Congress 2016 will take place between 13-17 April, 2016 at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain. The key dates and more information on the Congress can be found here.
