Manchester, the host city for the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) 2016, is delighted to announce that it is offering a travel grant scheme for journalists wishing to attend and report on the conference this summer.
The ESOF 2016 Travel Grant Scheme for Journalists is now open and has been put in place due to the overwhelming response to a similar grant offered by Nature Publishing Group, which has already supported 15 journalists to attend the conference.
Like the Nature Travel Grant Scheme for Journalists the new ESOF 2016 Travel Grant Scheme aims to help journalists attend ESOF and raise the profile of the conference through international press coverage. All members of the media are welcome to apply including early career/first job journalists.
The application window is open from today – Friday, 8 April 2016 – and will close at 12pm CET (noon) on Monday, 25 April 2016. Applicants should visit the ESOF2016 website to read the full grant scheme call and to apply.
Each application will be carefully reviewed by the ESOF 2016 delivery team in Manchester before a final decision is made in early May. Applications will be judged on the merits of their submitted CV and supporting statement.
Applicants who applied for the Nature Travel Grant Scheme but were unsuccessful are welcome to reapply.
For those unsuccessful in their bid for the ESOF 2016 Travel Grant Scheme, complimentary registration remains available to all media through the dedicated media registration platform.
