Lausanne will host 11th World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ2019)

San Francisco, Saturday 28 October 2017: The city of Lausanne was chosen today to host the 11th World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) that will be held from 1 to 5 July 2019 at the SwissTech Convention Center on the campus of the Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute (EPFL) and the University of Lausanne (UNIL). Every two years, this gathering attracts over a thousand journalists and communicators of science representing more than 60 nationalities.

A Word from the WFSJ President on the Importance of Partnering with Us

If you refuse to believe that we live in a “post-truth” world, please join us and support the WFSJ’s mission to empower science journalists who are working hard to make sure people have the knowledge they need to make rational choices about health care, technology and the environment.

A reporter’s job is not easy. Gaining access to information, understanding the complexities and relevance of the latest research and discoveries, and translating those findings for readers and audiences that often have little familiarity with science is a challenge. It requires specific training, practice and resources, which your organization can help provide.

As an Associate Partner, you will help foster a scientifically literate society that values expertise in personal decision-making and public policy by supporting a global network of thousands of journalists that believe that facts still matter. So, please, join us today so that we continue our work as a bridge builder and facilitator to further empower science journalists globally.

Curtis Brainard, WFSJ President
