Who I am: Esther Nakkazi | estanakkazi@gmail.com |
Where I live: Uganda
What I do: Science journalist with SciDev.Net and founder of the Health Journalists Network in Uganda
Why science journalism: “I became interested in science at school and at home. My mother was a nurse and I thought I would step it up and be a medical doctor but missed it. I also loved listening to and telling stories, writing and traveling. I became a journalist after the training and mentorship from WFSJ and the MIT Knight Science program made a turning point in my career.”
Suggestions for newcomers:
- Read, read, and read.
- Have a passion for your work and network with others.
- Hold yourself to high standards.
